Baby Sling
Baby Slings- The most basic among baby carriers is sometimes called a tube, pocket, or ring-less slings.  Simple or fitted pouches do not have rings or hardware.  Simply slip the pouch over your head and one shoulder, sash-style, creating a pocket or seat to hold your baby inside.

Ring Sling
Ring Slings-  Two rings of either nylon or aluminum are sewn to the end of a cloth which  wraps around your body from shoulder to opposite hip and back up to your shoulder.   The end is threaded through the rings to create a buckle effect.  Your baby sits or lies in the resulting pocket.  This type of sling can adjust to different wearers' sizes and  will accommodate different  wearing positions easily.  Once your sling is threaded it can be taken off and put back on without re-threading.
Baby Wrap
Wraps- A length of fabric that is wrapped around both you and your baby and tied.  There are different carrying positions possible.  Most carriers involve the fabric going over both of your shoulders and often your waist to offer maximum support.

Mei Tais
Mei Tais-  A square or nearly square piece of cloth with parallel unpadded straps which go over your shoulders and are secured by twisting and tucking the ends.
